The Story Behind VL Radio

Vibe Lebanon, also known as VL, was born in 1998 out of the shared passion of three young Lebanese music enthusiasts. What began humbly in a small bedroom quickly became the region’s first internet radio station, pioneering a new form of musical expression at a time when online broadcasting was still in its infancy.

From those early days, VL grew into a vibrant platform hosting an eclectic mix of radio shows across genres, fueled by a community of talented DJs and artists. It soon established itself as an alternative voice in Lebanese media — a refreshing counterpoint to the mainstream, commercially driven FM stations of the era.

As its influence expanded, VL evolved beyond radio into a DJ booking and music management agency, eventually launching its own record label, Vibe Lebanon Records (now VL Records), giving rise to a new generation of local electronic and alternative artists.

After a few quiet years, VL Radio is back on air — streaming a carefully curated blend of sounds from Lebanon, the Middle East, and around the world.
